After a few laughs, Sarver sang his rendition of the song "Thank You," originally by Boyz II Men. Judge Randy Jackson said "when I close my eyes, you sound good, you don't sound like anything like what you look like. The combination of that I actually kind of like". Kara DioGuardi said "you're like a sweet roughneck, like a sensitive roughneck." Paula Abdul agreed. Simon said Sarver has a "likability thing." All four judges voted to bring Sarver back for the Hollywood round of auditions.
